Our History
| 1929 | The Hart-Parr Tractor Company, the American Seeding Machine Company, The Nichols and Shepard Company and the Oliver Chilled Plow Company merged to form the Oliver Farm Equipment Corporation. Later the name was shortened to the Oliver Corporation. |
| 1945 | The Plevna Garage, opened in Plevna, Indiana by Emerson P. Shrock and brother James F. Shrock, begins selling Oliver tractors upon returning from World War II. |
| 1960 | White Motor Corporation enters the agriculture market by purchasing Oliver Corporation, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary. |
| 1962 | White Motor purchases Chockshutt Farm Equipment Company of Canada. (December) Plevna Garage Incorporates and becomes Plevna Implement Co., Inc. Emerson P. Shrock serves as the Board President while James F. Shrock becomes General Manager of daily operations. |
| 1964 | The Current day Lawnmower shop of Plevna Implement is built. |
| 1966 | Plevna begins selling White Trend Trucks. |
| 1969 | White Motor consolidates its wholly-owned subsidiaries of Oliver, Minneapolis-Moline and Cockshutt to form one wholly-owned subsidiary known as White Farm Equipment Company. Each brand continues to be manufactured. |
| 1970 | Plevna signs a new contract with Minneapolis-Moline, giving Plevna two full lines of farm equipment to market to its customers. |
| 1972 | Plevna purchases its first semi trailer to haul equipment. |
| 1975 | The Oliver, Minneapolis-Moline and Cockshutt brands are discontinued and replaced by the silver tractor of White's new Field Boss line. In the same year, Plevna builds its current day warehouse facility. |
| 1976 | James William (Bill) Shrock begins selling for Plevna Implement. |
| 1979 | White Motor Company spins off White Farm Equipment, eventually being purchased by Allied Products. |
| 1980 | James William (Bill) Shrock becomes General Manager of Plevna Implement's daily operations. |
| 1981 | Emerson P. Shrock dies at age 62. James F. Shrock becomes Board President of Plevna Implement. |
| 1985 | White Farm Equipment sells its combine line to Massey Ferguson. (September) Plevna begins selling Massey Ferguson equipment. |
| 1987 | Kathy J. Shrock helps implement the installation of Plevna's first business management computer system. |
| 1988 | Allied Products forms White-New Idea Farm Equipment. |
| 1989 | Plevna sells 20 new White Planters. |
| 1990 | AGCO Corporation is born out of the management buyout of the Deutz-Allis Corporation. |
| 1991 | The White Tractor line is purchased by AGCO from Allied Products. In addition, AGCO purchases Hesston Corporation giving AGCO a new line of hay tools. |
| 1993 | AGCO purchases the remaining White-New Idea business of planters, hay tools and spreaders from Allied Products. In addition, AGCO purchases the distribution rights to Massey Ferguson products in North America reuniting the White tractor line with the original White combine line sold to Massey Ferguson in 1985. |
| 1994 | AGCO purchases the remaining portion of Massey Ferguson worldwide, ensuring AGCO's global status as a leading farm machinery manufacturer. |
| 1995 | Plevna Implement constructs its current day combine shop. (August) A 50th anniversary celebration is held at Plevna Implement. AGCO Corporation's CEO Robert J. Ratliff gives an address to nearly 650 people in attendance. |
| 1997 | AGCO purchases Fendt GmbH, a leading German tractor manufacturer renowned for having the world's most advanced tractor technology. (December) Jay Sommers, Plevna's longtime, parts manager, retires after 38 plus years of service. |
| 1999 | AGCO Finance is born. (January) James William (Bill) becomes Board President of Plevna Implement. Plevna begins selling AGCO and Fendt tractors. |
| 2002 | AGCO acquires Sunflower Manufacturing Company, Inc, for which Plevna begins selling their tillage tools in 2003. Hustler Turf Equipment is added to Plevna's product line, offering a new heavy-duty zero-turning radius lawn mower. |
| 2004 | Plevna signs contract with Buhler Versatile to begin selling their Four-wheel drive and row crop tractors. |
| 2005 | Plevna Implement constructs its current day tractor shop. (July) James F. Shrock dies at age 80. |
| 2007 | AGCO introduces the 9005 series Massey Ferguson combines. |
| 2008 | Plevna signs contracts to sell MacDon equipment, Gleaner combines and Trimble Agriculture Navigation equipment. |
| 2009 | AGCO introduces the world's most fuel efficient tractor, the 8600 series high-horsepower tractor. |
| 2011 | Plevna opens its new headquarters in Plevna, IN. |
| 2012 | Plevna Implement Company opens an additional location in Nappanee, IN. |
